YT has added yet another Uncaged Capra build option, the Capra Uncaged 12 is kitted out with the best of the best gadgets and gizmos from SRAM and RockShox.
YT Industries has been adding a number of premium Uncaged versions of their best enduro bike, the YT Capra. First, there was the coil-equipped Uncaged 10 which was followed by the Uncaged 11 with Ohlins suspension.
They have now launched the Uncaged 12 which is aimed at offering maximum performance. The Uncaged 12 only comes in 29er wheel front and rear while the frame uses YT's Ultra Modulus carbon fiber to offer a better strength-to-weight ratio.
It's the Uncaged 12's spec that really amplifies the Capra's performance. YT has loaded the bike with all the bells and whistles from SRAM/RockShox in order to create the most advanced Capra yet.
Firstly, the Uncaged 12's RockShox Zeb Ultimate and Super Deluxe rear shock are controlled with RockShox Flight Attendant technology. The system uses sensors in the fork, shock, and crank to automatically control the suspension in real-time as you ride. The whole system is wireless and essentially works in the background so you can concentrate on riding.
The drivetrain is also wireless. YT has specced SRAM's latest X0 Eagle T-Type transmission, including a crank spindle-mounted Quarq power meter which is integrated neatly inside the XO aluminum crankset. To finish off the SRAM theme, the Uncaged 12 has Code RSC brakes and a RockShox Reverb AXS wireless dropper post.
The bike rolls on Crankbrothers Synthesis Carbon wheels and are shod with Maxxis Assegai MaxxGrip and DHRII DoubleDown tires for ultimate traction in all conditions.
With such a premium build it should be no surprise that the Uncaged 12 is the lightest Capra weighing in at 15.2kg, for comparison that's over a kilogram lighter than the Uncaged 10 build.
All this tech comes at a price and will retail for £5,999 / €5,999, which is actually extremely good value considering the spec level that you are getting. The bad news for US customers is this Uncaged 12 spec is only available in UK and EU.
