YT Industries decks out its trail, enduro, and downhill bikes with Ohlins suspension
YT's Uncaged 11 builds give their Izzo, Capra, and Tues bikes the Swedish suspension treatment
YT has released new Uncaged 11 builds for their Izzo, Capra MX, and Tues bikes, all of which come with complete suspension compliments from Swedish suspension gurus Ohlins, amongst other premium performance parts.
The Uncaged 11 builds come hot on the heels of YT's recently released coil shock-equipped Uncaged 10 Capra, which takes the spot as one of YT's best enduro bikes.
The bikes will all be equipped with the corresponding Ohlins suspension for their intended uses, as well as Crankbrothers Synthesis wheels, SRAM drivetrains/transmissions, and SRAM brakes.
Despite all of YT's current downcountry/short travel Izzo trail bike builds coming equipped with a 130mm Fox 34 fork, YT has opted to beef up the Uncaged 11 version of the Izzo. Instead of speccing an Ohlins RXF34 M.2, YT has given the Izzo Uncaged 11 a burlier RXF36 M.2 with 140mm of travel, allowing it to better compete with the best trail bikes. This is paired with an Ohlins TTX1 air shock, delivering 130mm of controlled rear travel. Both feature low-speed compression, three-position high-speed compression adjustment with a climb mode, and low-speed rebound adjustment.
Like the Capra Uncaged 10, the Uncaged 11 only comes in an MX (mullet) build and equipped with a coil shock, speccing an Ohlins TTX22 M coil shock in the rear and an Ohlins RXF38 M.2 fork up front. The RXF38 M.2 borrows tech from the Ohlins downhill fork and uses a triple air chamber to tune beginning, mid, and end stroke characteristics. Shock spring rates are frame size specific, with YT fitting 343 lbs (S), 365lbs (M), 388lbs (L), 411lbs (XL), and 434lbs (XXL) springs.
Unlike the Izzo and Capra Uncaged 11 builds, the Tues Uncaged 11 uses an alloy frame and 27.5in wheels front and rear. The 200mm of downhill bike travel is delivered using Ohlins DH38 dual crown fork which has the same triple air chamber and damping technology as it’s little RXF38 brother, as well as the TTX22 M coil. Coil spring rates are size specific over the five Tues frame sizes using 251lbs (S), 251lbs (M), 274lbs (L), 297lbs (XL), and 320lbs (XXL).
The bikes have claimed weights of 13.6kg for the Izzo Uncaged 11, 16.1kg for the Capra Uncaged 11, and 17.4kg for the Tues Uncaged 11 (all size small, set up tubeless, without pedals).
YT Uncaged pricing and spec
All three bikes come in a special Electric Yellow paint design to match the Ohlins suspension.
