Mondraker has been one of the busiest bike manufacturers so far this year with a host of new model drops, from its more affordable aluminum Raze full-suspension mountain bike to its Dusty XR electric gravel bike. The Spanish giant known for producing high-quality bikes now adds to its 2023 bike collection and continues its statement of intent with the Chaser X electric mountain bike.

With many of the best mountain bike brands getting on board with the idea of a bike being an all-round daily mode of transport, Mondraker will face some stiff competition with their new Chaser. The recently launched Specialized Terro X for example, is branded as the SUV of the bike world, able to carry luggage and cargo with ease and is Specialized's delve into the 'Go Anywhere" urban commuter bike market.

Mondraker says the Chaser X Range range takes versatility to the max when it comes to using a bike as a means of transport, and comes with all the heritage and identity of their best electric mountain bike model, the Chaser. Inheriting all the capability of its sibling on the dirt but redesigned with a 'daily-driver' urban mobility focus.

There are two models in the range, the Chaser X and the RX, and both are full-suspension equipped mountain bikes with each model having 150mm travel up front combined with 140mm at the rear. Mondraker say it should be more than capable of dealing with any urban commuting potholes and obstacles, and can also take on mountain trails or bridleways. The RX model also benefits from a dropper post from ONOFF, who are the Mondraker partner brand for components.

Featuring the Mondraker Stealth Evo aluminum frame, that they say will exceed the requirements of any urban bike rider, both models come with full mudguards, a rear pannier rack for transporting loads up to 25kg, front and rear lights, and a direct mount kickstand as standard.

The top-of-the-range RX model has a 750Wh battery, and comes with Bosch’s Smart System, along with the new System Controller device integrated into the top tube, the Mini Remote wireless remote control and the Kiox 300 external display. The X model also has the Bosch Smart System, a 625Wh battery, the Bosch Kiox 300 display and a Bosch LED remote control.
