Giant sponsors downhill legend Rob Warner
Giant welcomes Rob Warner back to the fold as a MTB and e-MTB ambassador
Giant has announced they will be sponsoring Rob Warner again as an ambassador "sharing his love of all things MTB, especially E-bike adventures!"
Rob originally signed for Giant back in 1996 and made history the same year, becoming the first British rider to win a round of the Kaprun Downhill World Cup. He stayed with Giant until 2002 when he stepped back from racing world cups in favor of commentating them and has since established himself as the voice of downhill mountain bike racing.
With Rob now no longer commentating on World Cup MTB racing after Warner Bros. Discovery take over of the Mountain Bike World Series, it's a fitting move that he now returns to Giant.
Giant posted the following message across its social channels.
"Welcome back, @robwarner970!
If you’re a fan of World Cup MTB racing, then you probably know Rob Warner as the voice of the sport for more than a decade.
Our history goes way back. Rob spent most of his racing career on a Giant, including the iconic ATX 990—a bike he made history with in 1996 when he became the first Brit to win a World Cup DH.
Now, Giant and Rob have teamed up again, sharing his love of all things MTB, especially E-bike adventures!"
When Rob originally rode for Giant he was aboard the ATX 990 (the bike he rode at Kaprun), followed by the striking ATX One DH and the Team DH. Bike's which for their time were ahead of the curve when it came to mountain bike tech.
This time round Rob will be riding Giant's Reign E+, among Giant's other best electric mountain bikes and non-electric bikes. The bike is driven by a SyncDrive Pro powered by Yamaha and features an EnergyPak Smart 625Wh battery. It's fitted with components from Rob's other sponsors including Ohlins, Enve, and Hope.
