FSA release e-MTB Carbon i29 wheelset
New carbon wheelset is designed to withstand the forces of trail and enduro e-MTBs
Full Speed Ahead has released a carbon wheelset designed to hold up to the rigors of trail and enduro e-MTBs. Since e-bikes are heavier than regular bikes, and long-travel e-MTBs encourage aggressive riding, a stronger wheelset is required.
The FSA eMTB Carbon i29 wheelset is designed to meet that requirement. FSA says it can handle up to 150kg/330lbs of rider/bike weight.
The wheelset features a 29mm inner width, 35mm outer width and 30mm depth. The rim profile is asymmetric, which leads to consistent spoke tensions and allows the wheel to be trued more easily.
The wheels are built around P.R.A boost hubs and use direct pull spokes. The freehub body is compatible with all standard SRAM and Shimano drivers and uses 6-bolt brake rotor mounts.
The wheelsets are available in carbon or alloy, with every Carbon i29 wheel being completely handbuilt. Both 29-inch or 27.5-inch wheel sizes are catered for and can be bought as a set or individually for those wishing to run a mullet set up.
