Eurobike award for Ryder Luberetta chain-lubing tool
Ryder Innovation’s Luberetta is a more efficient way of keeping your chain lubed, without the mess
Known for its well-thought-out line of products and accessories, Ryder Innovation has unveiled its latest accessory. It's called the Luberetta and, as the name suggests, it's been designed to make lubricating the best chains for mountain bike, gravel and road a less messy and more efficient exercise.
Designed and manufactured in South Africa, the Luberetta joins a product portfolio headlined by the Nut Cracker, Slug Plug and Slyder Storage System. The new lubing device comprises a silicone dispenser and chain guide affixed to a lube container that can hold up to 15ml. The application cap be reused forty times, which should equate to roughly a year’s worth of riding and weekly maintenance.

Keeping the chain in a lube channel
To streamline the application of the best chain lubes, designers at Ryder Innovation shaped a guide channel for the Luberetta’s nozzle. This acts as the ideal interface between the chain and lubrication port, with the Luberetta container allowing a light squeezing action to drip lube directly onto the chain.
The structure of traditional chain lubrication containers also makes them susceptible to clogging, which triggers an overpressure squeezing action and that inevitable flood of lubricant. Luberetta’s lubrication channel also has fins, which help clean a bit of grit off the chain as you lube it.
As more cycling events consider their environmental sustainability and impact, reducing chemical spillage is a meaningful outcome. This is where the Luberetta serves an excellent purpose for riders who need to lube mid-race and not spill chemical residue onto the trail.
Chain lubrication is a given, but doing it with less of a mess is much better for the environment and more faithful to the principles of authentic mountain biking. Eurobike judges were suitable impressed and gave the Ryder Innovation Luberetta an award in the accessories and apparel category.
Pricing is yet to be confirmed but the Ryder Luberetta will be available at your LBS from late September/early October.
