Could Rebound 2023 be the biggest DIY gravel bike event of the year? Here's how you can join in
Join the ride on June 3rd and become part of the biggest global gravel community. There's also a host of top prizes to be won
Get your best gravel bike ready for Rebound 2023 - an event which brings gravel bike riders around the globe together under the motto "United in Gravel, We Ride." The aim is to jointly ride a million miles in a day, which start from wherever you ride.
When the world came to a grinding halt in 2020, the Live Slow Ride Fast crew looked for safe ways to enjoy the world around us, organizing their own ‘Dirty Kanzelled’ DIY gravel ride. Even with the main Unbound gravel event canceled, the spirit of that ride lived on, celebrating the unifying potential of cycling, starting from your doorstep. However, with the new Rebound event, Shimano and Live Slow Ride Fast are looking to go one step further.
Rebound is for all cyclists and will take place on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023. The rules are simple: starting from any desired point and covering a distance of more than 25 miles (40 km), 50 miles (80 km), 100 miles (160 km) or 200 miles (320 km). There's no fees, no time limits, just a rule of a 6am sharp (local time), two coffee stops along the way and mandatory post-race celebration beers.
Gravel is a great equalizer and unifier, with events growing almost daily, we've recently found some of the best gravel events around the world from one day organized events to multi-day self-supported tests of endurance, it’s where friends are made, and memories are forged.
So whether you’re riding one mile or one hundred; have the best gravel clothing or no kit; ride a 10-speed or 11-speed; or are hitting paved roads, fire roads, B-roads, or no roads at all. It doesn’t matter why you’re out there, it only matters that you are.
To register for the free event, visit Rebound.cc. today, and join the Rebound Strava Challenge to log your ride and have the chance of winning some excellent prizes, including ten x Shimano RX6 gravel shoes, five x custom Rebound Ride posters, three x weekend tickets for LtD's Gravel Raid event, two VIP tickets to the Tour de France by Skoda and A Live Slow Ride Fast Experience.
