7Mesh develop a new fabric for its Fall 22 range
7Mesh's WTV material claims to balance wind, thermal, and ventilation for cold weather MTB and drop bar riders
7Mesh has launched their new Fall / Winter 2022 range which features a new WTV fabric that has been developed for riders heading out on the bike in cold and wet conditions.
7Mesh says that the fabric has been developed over the last few years and tested in their local Squamish BC area, known for its challenging wet conditions that will challenge even the best MTB jackets. The new WTV material is focused on three factors that challenge clothing when riding in the shoulder and winter seasons.; wind, thermal, and ventilation.
7Mesh says they have achieved this using a two-layer material construction. The outer layer protects against wind and is backed by brushed yarn insulation to capture warm air. They say that in use, the trapped warmer air inside is at a higher pressure than the cooler air on the outside and this pressure differential helps balance rider comfort by pushing some of the warm air and moisture out.
7Mesh has released four different pieces of clothing featuring the WTV material for MTB and drop bar riders, available in both men's and women's fits.
For mountain bikers and bikepackers, 7Mesh has the Chilco anorak and vest which has a relaxed trail-friendly cut. The anorak features a quarter-zip with a front chest pocket and two hand pockets. The full-length zipped vest has a rear pocket that the vest can fold away into and features three storage straps to attach it to your bike when not being worn.
Gravel and road riders can choose from the Seton long sleeve jersey and vest. 7Mesh says that the jersey and vest have a trim fit and both the jersey and vest feature 7Mesh's 'Anything Pockets' which are a combination of three rear pockets and a zipped pocket to stash your belongings.
